We all know that today all the laptops, netbooks and even the desktop comes with Wireless network cards. But in the case of laptop and netbook connected to wifi network all the time can drain out the battery very soon. this is not in the case of the Ubuntu but also in Windows and Mac too. So disabling the network card when you are not using Internet can save lot of power and improve the battery life.
So lets see how it can be done.
1) Go to System settings.
2) Select the Network.
3) By default you can see wired connection. (if you are connected via Ethernet)
4) Click on wireless.
5) To enable the wireless card turn the switch on and you can see the available networks that is connected
6) To disable the wireless card turn the switch off and you cannot see available the networks.
So in this way you can enable and disable wireless card in Ubuntu 12.04.
